What is CAVe-in-a-Box?
Connected and Automated Vehicle Education (CAVe)-in-a-Box is a hands-on learning experience representing a connected transportation ecosystem to facilitate training, deployment, and testing.
CAVe-in-a-Box includes:
C-V2X radios
Traffic control devices
Networking equipment
CAV software stack
CAV Visualization tools
CAVe Hands-on Training
A detailed look at the connected and automated vehicle (CAV) technologies and demonstration of interoperable connectivity to help:
Keep apace with the advancements in technology
Assess and evaluate the technology to make informed investment decisions
FHWA offers these trainings FREE of cost.
Learning Objectives
The CAVe-in-a-Box is an interactive, hands-on training to educate practitioners and researchers about connected and automated vehicle (CAV) technologies. After completing the training, participants will be able to:
Define the components and architecture of a signalized intersection.
Identify V2X use cases that can be used to address transportation challenges in your community.
Learn how to configure and troubleshoot ITS equipment including connected vehicle devices.
Connect with the research team behind CAVe-in-a-Box.
